My Own Bed of Nails
Personally, I love lying on this mat with the pillow under my neck. I get a lot of pain in the back and neck and shoulders, and I can’t say that using this item this exactly gets rid of the pain, it’s more like a different pain that feels good. Probably not something that everyone would enjoy, it is pretty prickly, but if you need a little pain to relieve some other pain, well… this might work for you.

Melts away any kind of pain or tension
The first day it arrived I used it on my back, neck, hips, hamstrings, calves, feet, and stomach because I was so amazed at how well it melted away muscle soreness from lifting weights. I’m obsessed!! I could not believe how light and mobile I felt after about 20 minutes while watching tv. Game changer!!!

Useful and Decent Size
I like this mat for the usefulness and the price. The size is also nice. I have been looking at these as I love acupuncture and acupressure and to have an option for use at home was very appealing to me. This brand makes a decent mat and pillow.The mat is large enough to fit my entire back and part of my neck as well as any other parts of my body I need them to. It has a respectable number of spikes on it, and they are well distributed. It feels great to use this. The pillow is just as nice with excellent amount of stiff padding. It all comes in an easy to carry bag.I will say the reason for the four stars and not five, is that the “cover” with the spikes is larger than the padding on the inside and is moves around a bit and looks a bit sloppy and not as tight and well put together as some of the other brands. This is made up of a 1″ foam pad with the covering on it with a hook and loop closure. *See photos for details.

There’s a reason this product and so many like it are 30-40% the price of the best product – the Shakti mat. It’s because they’re inferior products. The plastic, the points, the fabric, the mat – all are inferior, and simply don’t work nearly as well. If you’re going to do this, just spend the extra money and get the better product. Your back will thank you.

This set follows the usual mat/pillow design for acupressure/acupuncture therapy. That is not a bad commentary, rather acknowledging the simplicity and utility of the design. (Also, not to mention that most of these are probably mass produced, and simply imprinted with respective brand names.)The pillow has a zipper, while the mat has velcro strips at the top end. These allow access to the foam inserts. So, as the product ages, the foam inserts can be replaced, reviving and prolonging the usage of the set.The plastic discs with raised prongs perform their task well. They are pointed, while not being sharp enough to easily pierce the skin. The mat does tend to curl, but it’s easily remedied by curling it in the opposite manner. After all, the internal structure is just foam.Attached are photos to show real world images, with a ruler for size reference. Close ups of the discs are provided to show the plastic prongs and placement. In terms of cost, it’s priced within pennies of comparable/identical acupressure mat/pillow sets.The significant other loves the acupressure therapy from these mat/pillow sets. She gives this set her nod of approval. As such, it receives a 4.5 – 4.75 star rating, with a high level recommendation.
