Thinking ahead to winter, again.
I find the brand Edie Bauer to be a quality brand, so I wanted a new blanket last winter, and got this one. I use it in my recliner, which I often sleep in for naps. I love the size of this, which is perfect for naps in recliners. It is also great for just cuddling with pets, or reading–and I do use it from earliest autumn to latest spring. It IS too warm for summer, unless your housemate insists on turning the air conditioner to ARCTIC. Then, yeah, it becomes a 4-season blanket.I find it to be warm while still being light in weight, so if you sleep with it over your toes, they won’t yell at you because of the weight. This blanket/throw also washes well, and is not going to shed like a double-coated dog. Yes, it sheds a bit, so clean out the dryer fluff holder thingie after you dry it, and all is well. It is well-made, so I don’t think I’ll have to buy a new blanket this year. –And the plaid is gorgeous!!!

As I write this review my Basset Hound Joseph and I are using this on the couch in Northern Indiana. He loves it and I like it too. It’s soft and fluffy on one side and a more durable fabric on the other side. The size is Goldilocks’, not too big and not too small. I’m very pleased with the price and quality. It arrived on time.

Good holiday decoration, not for every day use
I just wanted a throw for my new couch that would be a bit festive for the holidays. This was exactly what I was looking for. I can’t see myself using it beyond the season, for a number of reasons, but I wouldn’t want to pay a quality level price for something that will attract moths for 10 months out of the year anyway.It’s soft enough, but has permanent fold marks from the packaging process. After two washings they’re still present. It does shed some, again after two washings, but not enough to be noticeable to the average person. You can easily pull off a chunk of the soft white portion (wool? Cotton blend? Idk) if you aren’t careful when folding, but it won’t leave fuzzies on your couch. So it has the potential to shed, but it doesn’t actively shed – if that makes sense.This all sounds like nit-picking, I know, but you should know that this isn’t the kind of throw you use year round. The quality just isn’t there. But if you just want a cheap (but not “cheap”) holiday throw blanket that won’t leave you itchy and can actually keep you warm, then this is the best you can hope for without spending too much money.

Attractive tartan pattern which never dates. Darker greens suitable for everyday use without getting grubby in appearance. Lining tends to pick up bits of cotton etc which is probably inevitable.
