4.5 Stars – Almost perfect
The weights themselves are great. Very solid, nice handles, good materials. For the price, this a really great set of weights and it’s great having the 5 lb. increments. The rack was easy to put together, looks great, and doesn’t take up much space at all.The first downside is the smell when they arrive. I knew about this from other reviews so i unboxed them outside, rubbed them down with a dish rag using soapy water, and let them stay outside (under a covered area) for a few days. They still have a smell up close now but they don’t stink up the room like they would have.The bigger downside that I don’t have any solution for is the width of the rack hooks. They are made to hold the weights at a good spot on the handles, but that makes them more narrow than your hand. When I pull them out, I can only grab them with 3 fingers and when I put them back I have to kindof toss them in a bit or risk pinching parts of my hand against the hook. (see pictures)Given all of that, I’m taking off half a star for the rack width because, as long as you clean them well when you get them, they are otherwise a great set and well worth the cost.

I purchased the CAP Barbell 150 LB Coated Hex Dumbbell Weight Set with Vertical Rack in Green, and I couldn’t be more satisfied! I ended up buying two sets, and both arrived in perfect condition. The dumbbells themselves are sturdy, well-made, and coated to protect against wear and tear, ensuring they’ll last a long time.Putting the set together was a breeze. It took me no time at all to assemble everything. The rack is easy to use and holds the dumbbells securely, but I do want to mention that the rack feels narrow as some reviewers note, that being said, it doesn’t bother me too much – if I really found it to be an issue, I’d simply choose not to use the rack. Honestly, for my needs, the rack works just fine and is a non-issue.A pleasant surprise was the lack of any foul odors or issues that some reviewers mentioned. Solid Product, but you will need patience with the shipping
Overall, this product offers excellent build quality and serves as a solid base set. My main reservation is the shipping process, which could be better. 3 starts for the shipping experience. However, the product is a solid 4.5.Smell: Not an Issue for MeMany reviews mention a strong odor, but I’m happy to report that mine had no foul smell. This might be due to chemicals used to strengthen the rubber, but in any case, any scent should dissipate over time. There was a slight oil residue, likely to prevent rust during storage and transport. You can wipe this off or use gloves to avoid sweat-induced rust.Shipping: A Muddled ExperienceBe prepared for multiple shipments. It seems they cap each package at 50 lbs. For my 150 lbs set, the order arrived in three separate shipments, with one 50 lbs package (2×25 lbs plates) still missing at the time of writing this review (ordered on July 10th). The first shipment was the frame, followed by 50 lbs (2×10, 2×15) and another 50 lbs (2×5, 2×20). This fragmented delivery is a definite downside.Packaging & Assembly: No ComplaintsThe packaging was adequate, and my items arrived with no scratches or damage. Assembly was incredibly easy, taking less than 10 minutes. All necessary tools, including a wrench, washers, screws, and bolts, were included.

I purchased the orange rack – 1) because orange is my favorite color, and 2) because it was also the cheapest. I’ve have needed some heavier weights for a while, and I really wanted some hex weights. Getting the full set with a rack that allows you to store them efficiently is a plus. Weights (and gym equipment in general) have been so expensive since the pandemic. I was thrilled to get this full set for what I consider a bargain price (probably about 50% of the cost of similar sets) with free shipping. the set came in 4 boxes over two days – I sure felt bad for the delivery guy! The weights are packaged so that 3 of the boxes each holds 50 lbs (2 X 25, 2 X 20 + 2 X 5, and 2 X 15 + 2 X 10). The 4th box contained the rack parts with instructions and tools to put it together. I had it assembled in about 20 minutes, and it’s perfectly sturdy to hold all these weights. The weights felt slightly oily out of the box and had a faint odor (chemical? plastic? metal?), but the odor is quickly dissipating. They are perfect hex weights – well balanced and grippy without being too rough on your palms. I did not check the weights themselves to make sure they are exactly correct on poundage – they seem close enough, and that’s all I need. I’ve already used everything but the 5’s – and I’ll get around to them eventually too.

Great weight set. Like others have commented is that they do have a smell and have some kind of oil/grease on them that you will need to clean off before use. It’s a good variety of weights and handle size is good for people with small hands. My prior weights had to thick of a handle which made them hard to lift properly. Stand is compact and fits nicely in my room.

Excellent product. I was surprised at the quality of the weights that i received. Having worked with heat press molding I can attest to the quality and appearance. The ergonomic chrome handles are also of excellent quality.I read a lot of reviews mentioning the odor. I was prepared to leave them outside for a day or two. Absolutely not necessary. You have to get the rubber pretty close to your nose for it to be strong. Strangely enough it is the protective rubber on the rack that has the strongest odor. Overall the smell is negligible to nothing. You cant smell it just walking into the room.It fits perfectly in my limited space garage gym.The regular price is competitive. The sale price offered a “I can’t afford not to buy it” scenario.On a final note; the I ordered these on July 10 and my Amazon order page said delivery by August 1. The shipment came in two parts. Three boxes on Monday July 14 & the 4th box the next day on the 15th. Extremely fast shipping.Highly recommend

J’adore ces poids !! Vont de 5lbs à 25 lbs ! Parfait pour s’entraîner à la maison autant le haut du corps que le bas du corps. Voir mes photos, n’est pas trop gros, parfait !! Mais effectivement c’est difficile de prendre les poids puisqu’il y a peu d’espace entre ceux ci. En terme de largeur c’est environ mes 4 doigts. Niveau odeur, très très légère, j’ai passé un petit linge humide avec du Hertel et plus rien. Les poids avaient un peu de poussière dessus mais c’est tout. J’adore la poignée texturé, elle permet une bonne « grip »! Vraiment; je recommande !!!

I found these and thought the price was decent for 150lbs worth of weights and a rack. I saw the reviews about the smell and packages not arriving.It tells you that they arrive in 4 boxes. Upon delivery all boxes were there and again on each box was a label saying heavy item for safety and delivery the boxes may arrive in separate deliveries.Anyway I unbound, yes there was an odor. I opened my windows and honestly it wasn’t that bad. I get headaches with strong scents and I was fine.The weights were oily/greasy, as was my treadmill and spin bike and all honesty most other gym equipment. So I used lysol wipes to wipe each DB. Didn’t take long, no oily residue, no smell. My o ly complaint is in order to set up the rack you need another tool that is not included, if you set it up without it it will be too loose and unstable and would render it dangerous and ineffective. You must tighten the bolts properly to secure it.I’ve already done an upper body time under tension workout. No damage, no issues and arrived 3days earlier I am very happy. Just annoyed about the tool, I have oen in my tool.box but if I didn’t I would be annoyed.Overall very happy with my purchase . I removed a star because of the missing tool not included it should be included as it’s a safety issue if someone sets it up without it.
